Hi

I have done quite a bit of research, but I haven't found the right answer to this.

My goal is simple, I want to be able to use my custom invoice number format. The current format is e.g., INV/2021/08/0006, I wanted to change it to INV2021/01, INV2021/02 ....


In the research I have done, you can use resequencing tool in invoice grid view. But the form doesn't allow you to define dynamic values.

Some other people suggested that you can go to Technical/Squences&Identifiers/Sequences to modify sequence there, but there is no existing record for Invoices or Journals.


Note this is V14 Enterprise Cloud version, so that I don't have much access to the backend files or services.

Appreciate your comment. Looks like the resequence tool is the way to go. Could you please shed some light on how to create a new sequence pattern like this INV2021-0001, INV2021-0002 etc. Next year it will automatically become INV2022-0001, etc. Would that work? I tried NV%(year)s-0001, which didn't work.

Hello Yuan,

Unfortunately, there is no other way to play much with the Invoice sequence in Odoo V14. The only available way is to use resequence tool. I did not understand what you exactly mean by "Dynamic values" but if you want something like a sequence by year the resequence tool could do the job.

NB: I ran into the same issue and asked Odoo for help but they assured me there is no way to do a lot of things on the invoice sequences.
