Can we have two units of measure under the same category and same reference unit?

i.e. Unit would be under category "unit", and reference of its category.

If I were to use Piece and have it under "unit" and set as reference of its category.

Would there be an issue? Would it cause a conflict?

If I were to quote someone with 1 unit, then bill them as 1 piece. Would it be able to read that unit=piece, and apply it?

You can do that without any conflict and you can quote someone with 1 unit and bill them as 1 piece.

No. The UoM is defined in your product. And it will be displayed as such in all documents.

Forget my former comment. It is possible to use another UoM in different documents, as long as they are the same category since v10.

No issues, no conflicts.

No. The UoM will be displayed according to your assignment in your product.
