I am new to this so please excuse any errors. I am testing Odoo and it looks like the answer to our prayers. Two of us have been testing different functions. We have each worked on a trial data base but want to set up a new master data base with all the apps in one data base. The problem is that we quite a bit of data in th evariious apps so would like not to have to re-enter it if possible. Now we would like if possible to combine what we have done. Is there a way to transfer an app complete with its settings and data from one data base to another?

You can try downloading the data, installing the app on the other DB and then import the data.
Or you were referring to code customisation edits?

I can transfer the data as you suggest however I have ticked various radio buttons and boxes in the app to set it how I would like it to work. Does anyone know if this information (app settings) would be transferred to the new app in the new data base or would it only transfer the raw data?
It does keep the configuration you have saved once you import the data only if it was a backup, so I would get the version that is most completed and merge the other one onto that, and if needed check first if the configuration is ok before importing.
