I want to know what is logic behind TIN (tax identification number) ? In which scenario does it appears ?

when I installed Accounting module it didn't show up in Customers -> Accounting tab  then I went for UK Accounting  it didn't show up even then but when I went for Belgium Accounting it appeared.


Kindly enlighten me about the logic behind it.

Hi,

TIN Number for partners comes from the module "base_vat" addon. This module check the entered TIN is genuine or not. Many of chart of accounting modules have dependency with "base_vat" module. For example "Thailand - Accounting" has no dependency with "base_vat" module because this one is not essential for the proper working of Thailand-Accounting. Whereas, Belgium accounting (l10n_be) have a dependency with vat module. That is why it appear when you install Belgium accounting. For clarification, you can check dependency list from module manifest file.
