I am using budgets to know the profitability of each of my projects. I have people working on several tasks and they use timesheets which are a cost for my company and my analytic accounts are not reflecting that cost. How could I add that expense/cost?

To add timesheets to an analytic account we have to follow these steps:


  1. Your employees must have a cost per hour so that their time and cost can be multiplied and generate an entry on your budgets and analytic accounts. 

Go to employees > select your employee > go to HR settings tab > add the hour cost related to the employee


  1. You must activate timesheets in your project app’s configuration.

Project > configuration > activate timesheets


  1. Your analytic accounts and budgets must also be activated in the accounting app

Accounting app > configuration > settings > scroll down to activate analytic accounting and budgets


  1. In the project app now we can use studio to add an existing field to our timesheets tab.

Go to projects > open a project > go to task > go to timesheets tab > open studio > add the ‘financial account’ field





  1. Now that the field has been added, when we add the timesheets we can also add the account it will have an impact on and it will be seen in our project’s analytic account as seen below

Ex: employee costs $100 per hour and worked for 2 hours. The analytic account keeps a record of that expense.
