Default OdooBot email address is set as = odoobot@exapmle.com
Usually it should be changed to another, more real, but I have serious doubts about which one is most suitable.
What does Odoobot do:
1) This is a SUPERUSER
2) Many messages are sent on his behalf
3) Cron Jobs works often with default user == OdooBot
4) Many Mail templates has defined user.email as email_from (Cron Jobs User = OdooBot)
5) OdooBot manages chat channels
6) etc. etc.
There are several options for setting this email address.
My ideas:
Email OdooBot == Email Admin
Email OdooBot == Email Catchall
Email OdooBot == Email Bounce
Email OdooBot == Other Odoo Alias
Email OdooBot == Company Email
Email OdooBot == Individual separate address
Each of these solutions seems bad to me.
I always have some problems (or when world reply, or when bounce, or when are multi sent and one email is bad, or...)
How to do it? Any suggestions are welcome?
Documentation on this topic does not exist :(
Maybe one of the authors of Odoo will comment on this?
PS. For beginners:
OdooBot user is visible in "Developer mode", menu Users, filter "Inactive Users"
OdooBot related partner is visible in Contacts, filter Archived.
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- CRM
- e-Commerce
- Accounting
- Inventory
- PoS
- Project
- MRP

Hello, any update of what is better after this time? I have the same doubt
I consider as best options catchall@mydomain.com or noreply@mydomain.com (which also migh arrive to catchall inbox).
Maybe using catchall@mydomain.com would be the best option?

I've been thinking about this one quite some times too and I'm uncertain too honestly. Right now I usually change the sender of the email template to a real user instead of OdooBot.
Thanks for this!
