If the order is being shipped to a state that taxes shipping, TaxCloud calculates and applies the appropriate sales tax, based on the Taxability Information Code (TIC) of the Product.
TaxCloud provides two TICs for products representing transportation, shipping, postage and similar charges.
Postage/Shipping TIC 11010 is used if you charge your customer your actual shipping cost (the amount listed on the Invoice YOU receive from your provider such as FedEx, DHL, UPS, USPS, etc).
Shipping & Handling TIC 11000 is used if you charge your customer flat rate shipping (regardless of what you pay for shipping).
Shipping & Handling TIC 11000 is used if you charge your customer more than your actual shipping cost (you mark up the price, or make a small profit on shipping because you account for handling also).
