I've setup subcontracting in Odoo Enterprise 11, but there are some thing don't go as expected:

  • the raw materials and finished good location stays at my own warehouse (WH/stock). My reordering rules are set to work only at the subcontracting location. I don't find the setup to change this.

  • I think this problem is also the reason why I don't get internal transfers from my own warehouse to the subcontracting location. Is that correct?


My setup:

2 warehouses:

  • own warehouse (WH)

  • subcontractor warehouse (SUB): added address of the subcontractor

  • 1 step sending and receiving

Products

  • Tafel (Saleable product / manufactoring)

    • inventory: manufacture + make to order

    • basic reordering rule: location SUB/stock

    • BOM:

    • needs 1 tafelblad + 4 tafelpoot, both consumed in operation "monteren"

    • has Routing "tafel assembleren"

      • 1 operation: "monteren"

      • location: SUB/stock

  • Tafelblad

    • Routes: buy + make to order

    • reordering roules: basic on location SUB/stock

    • vendor is attached

  • Tafelpoot

    • idem like tafelblad



  • When entering a sales order for the tafel, I get a manufactoring order for the correct number of tafels

You can achieve clean subcontracting flow in manufacturing out of the box since Odoo has the new inventory management solution.

I am not explaining in detail here, just go through \Setup subcontracting in manufacturing process document and let me know if you have any queries in the same.

This solutions is based on the single warehouse, using two warehouse could be even simple then this you don;t have to touch the routes manually as Resupply warehouse can create those routes automatically for you.

Did you find a solution in the meantime?   I have the same problem in 11.  After finishing the assembling we need to ship to an external paint company.  In older version it doens look dificult. But dont get it to work in 11
