In Odoo 19, I have 1 ton of steel as my available stock, but I want to sell it in kilograms. Without using the Purchase module, how can I set up the product with different units of measure (Ton for inventory and Kg for sales) so that Odoo automatically converts and deducts the stock correctly?
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- CRM
- e-Commerce
- Accounting
- Inventory
- PoS
- Project
- MRP

Hi , That Multiple UOM Not Showing In Product Creation , I Tried All Possible Way , But Not Able To Find It , I am Using Odoo Community Version .
Hi,
1- Define UoMs: Create "Ton" as the Reference Unit and "Kilogram" with a Ratio of 1000 in Inventory > Configuration > Units of Measure.
2- Configure Product: Set the "Steel" product's Unit of Measure to "Ton" and Sales Unit of Measure to "Kilogram" in Inventory > Products.
3- Adjust Inventory: Use Inventory Adjustments to set the initial stock to "1 Ton."
4- Create Sales Order: Enter the quantity in Kilograms on the sales order. Odoo automatically converts and deducts the correct amount in tons from your inventory.
5- Verify Stock Moves: Check Inventory > Operations > Stock Moves to confirm accurate conversion and deduction.
