Hi to all,

If I'm not mistaken, when I chose a fiscal year, first I must 'Generate Fiscal Year Opening Entries', and ...

In 'Opening Entries Journal' it's mandatory to define fields 'Default Debit Account' and 'Default Credit Account'

define it with ... '890000 - Bilan d'ouverture'  a class 8 accounts, but it does not exist.

For Anglo-Saxon systems, the equivalent is  'Opening Expense Account' and 'Opening Income Account'

Why it is like that ? There may be a reason, but I not know.

I consulted a French accountant expert, his response was: don't use class 8 account !

His explanations:

1/ Class 8 accounts are not used by tax authorities control. If tax authorities control you (Audits of computerized accounting with the FEC file), this can create serious complications !

2/ To close the fiscal year, setting 'Opening Entries Journal':

'Default Debit Account' = "129000 - Résultat de l'exercice (perte)"

'Default Credit Account' = "120000 - Résultat de l'exercice (bénéfice)"

3/ At your level, forget the account class 8 ...

Well now, I understand why there is no class 8 account in the French chart of accounts!

This is unnecessary and dangerous with respect to the tax authorities.

If someone has a comment, or correct something wrong ... he should say!

Response of a French not accountant but associative activist.

Some companies are not subject to taxes: most of association.

So, for, them 8 class of account could be used, couldn't it?
