Hi,

when we use a multiple steps route, like Receive in 2 steps for instance, it looks like it's not possible to propagate the backorder back to the initial location.

For example:

1. vendor delivers 2 chairs

2. 1 receipt (vendors > input) approved

3. partial q.ty moved from input to stock

4. backorder for partial quantity created from input to stock

No backorder gets created from vendor to input.

I played with routes configuration a little bit but it looks like this needs some code to be developed.

am I right?

thanks,

Davide

when you have route with several steps. in all steps if you proceed not initial demand will suggest to create back order.

Indeed, but in the real world, you first receive the package (vendors -> input) then you open it and check for issues and create a backorder if needed (input -> stock).

It would nice to have the possibility to create the "backorders chain" if you discover you received less than expected after you have validated the first move

i understand, but that chain not perfect but works. i am implementing now this scenario and we use 2 (some how a little bit more :) )steps. in second step (you validate qty good conditions), create backorder. proceed to stock and when return it.

yes, chain not ideal. also, with that route, can be done a lot configuration, and to be ornest, odoo need to improve and test it more. because when you use the same 2 steps, but product has - replenish on order, you get very bad chain(if you proceed PO without SO :) ).
