We currently run v9.0c on premise, but will be forced to move it elsewhere due to bandwidth constraints.

Can anyone make a suggestion (in the US) for a VPS service we could easily migrate to? I assume for the process, we'd just need a CentOS based VPS (we currently use CentOS 7), install Odoo, import the database, and update DNS settings accordingly.

Thanks.

Hi AMZ,

There are quite a few VPS services around that you can use. I'm personally a big fan of DigitalOcean since they have competitive prices and the service is really good. For more information see https://www.digitalocean.com/pricing/
Another great alternative is Microsoft Azure, which has amazing high uptimes and a lot of default features. For more information see https://azure.microsoft.com/pricing/
As for your process: You will indeed need to install Odoo, import the database and update the DNS settings to point to your URL.

Regards,
Yenthe

+1 for digital ocean. To add to this, choose a plan with 2GB or more of RAM for optimum performance.

Good sidenote! You might have the Odoo running stuck every once in a while if you take the 1GB plan.

Digitalocean seems to get a lot of support here I've noticed, and I like their pricing. Is there an effective way to judge memory needs? We currently operate with 24gb, so it'd be a little costly to just jump to that (or even 16gb).

Edit: per `top` odoo.py is sitting at 9.1% memory usage
