Can someone please help me solve this exception that is being caused when an automatic reordering rules. Any direction on the places to look to solve the issue because at the moment I cannot see anything in the product template that is any different to others I have where the reordering rule works without a problem.

Hello,
you could check those points:
1. if you are using MTO route: Go to Inventory -> Configurations -> routes -> drag & drop the MTO route to be at the top of the routes list
2. if you set your reordering rules there is 3 dots menu click it , choose "Routes" field to appear and choose the default route" Buy , Manufacturing ,..."
3. on product template form -> inventory tab -> routes "Make sure to activate multi step route on the Inventory settings" -> choose "Buy" or any other required route.

if it does not work for you , you could provide with more information about the required workflow
hope it will help you

I don't use MTO.

I added Buy as the preferred route and on the product template Buy is also selected but I still get the exception.

If you use multiple locations (or WH) you might need to validate if the delivery route and buy routes share the same storage location.

Also, a vendor has been provided on the product template.

Is this error specific to 1 product or all your products?

It is in a warehouse with multiple locations. But, it is specific to just one product and there are many others with reordering rules that work fine.

Since it is just the one product, you may want to check if vendor is available to trigger buy route. 2. Since there are multiple locations, this product is likely stored in a location from where the buy route isn’t defined.
