I am wondering if there is a way to transfer lots of stock from one location to another. We are tracking stock within freezers, and may have ~100 (different) products per freezer. If the freezer breaks, how can I move all of the stock from this freezer (all 100 items) to a different storage location (i.e. another freezer)?

Hi Shehani,

Thank you for your explanation. I think this was is fine if there are a small number of different products, as you can create a line item for each, and transfer the quantities required, my main concern is if you have many different products, whether there would be a more efficient way to transfer products, rather than having to add hundreds of lines within the internal transfer.

Many thanks,

Chris

Hi Christoper,

Create multiple warehouse locations (Below example is from V17)

To set up your warehouse locations based on your business requirements, follow these steps. Navigate to the Inventory module, click on "Configuration," and you'll find the locations as illustrated below.

Upon clicking on "Locations," you will find a list of all the created locations. To add a new warehouse location, click on the "New" button, and a form will appear below. Here, you can enter the warehouse location name and select a parent warehouse location if applicable.

Internal Transfer (Move stock from current freezer to another freezer )

Step 01

You can go to the inventory module and select Operations main menu and select Internal option like below

Step 02

Now below form will appear then you can select new button under internal transfer view. From there, select the source location (the current freezer containing the product) and the destination location (where you want to transfer the product). Add the product and specify the quantity for transfer, then click on the "Validate" button. This process will successfully transfer the product from Freezer 1 to Freezer 2.

Now if you go the moves history you can see the product movement like below.

Hope this helps.Thank you!

The answers are all correct, but your intention was not to create the internal transfer and have to add all 100+ products to it, you wanted a transfer form, that collates all products from the source at creation.

Actually, you'd need to script this.  I'm currently in the process of doing this myself, because I also don't want to overstrain the inventory-guys.  For corrections of human mistakes, the should be one form, where you can add all corrective moves and an explanation of what happened.  Then press "Validate" to kind of sign that correction and issue the stock moves.

Hi,

1. Go to inventory -> Operation -> Internal -> CreateCreate Internal transfer, source location as freezer 1, and choose your destination location

 2. Add product and quantity and validate it.
