Hi team,

during OpenDays 2014 there was a presentation about documentation process:

http://www.slideshare.net/openobject/odoo-presentation-documentation-v8

It was mentioned, that there will be no book-like documentation for v8, but there will be more like a cookbook with recepies for specific solution. There was also mentioned, that Odoo has hired more people to marketing team who will create a lot of new documentation.

Based on this thread I found this cookbook:

https://www.odoo.com/forum/how-to

but there is nothing happening with it for a long time.

Can anyone explain if there will be any documentation available soon in any specific form? Specially for new modules / apps like marketing, quote builder, etc. Any news on that?

I don't know what the official response is, but I've found lots of good documentation resources listed here:

http://odoohub.wordpress.com/2014/08/15/where-is-the-odoo-documentation/

I use (and try to contribute to) the OpenERP v8 book (Community written).

There is actually a lot of new documentation for odoo v8.  I am attempting to keep track of all available documentation in my thread, as you have already mentioned.

However you probably are talking about this work in progress.

As for user based documentation, odoo has already said that they will not do that.  User documentation must be community written.  The link posted in the other answer is a good option.  Also there was talk in the odoo email community list of someone who would be willing to write the documentation but he does not know how to fund his project.  He can't do it for free.
