I'd like to be able to include some info from purchases report onto vendor bills. My vendors would like to see monthly and year-to-date purchase totals. (They are service providers and are sub-contractors -- not employees.) I see such info on the report. Anyone have a suggestion for how to get it from there onto their bills? I think I have some ideas, but if anyone else has done it and would share it would save me some time and effort.

Hi,
Seems you need to display monthly purchase and current years purchase total amount in the vendor bills. You can just inherit the existing report and add this values into it.
For inheriting the report and to add custom values into it, please refer this blog: Inheriting and modifying QWeb reports
Thanks
Hehe I love how you always seem to link to my blog :) Accepted as this is indeed the solution, just needs some custom steps.
@yenthe: you have got well written blogs which is useful for many.
"You can just inherit the existing report and add this values into it. " Meaning I modify the existing vendor bill report to inherit the purchase report and grab the desired values from there?
You can modify the vendor bill by inheriting the orignal vendor bill template
Yenthe, You have made a great tutorial. I followed it and was able to get the information onto the vendor bill. I had to write a function to get the info from the account_payment table and it took some studying, but I did get it to work.
