Hello we are using odoo 17 online. Our sellers add information to personalize the products we sell on the order lines and we need it to appear on the purchase order we send to our suppliers and not just the name of the product.
Any easy way to have the purchase order include this information without having to enter it manually?

You can handle this with Product Variants.
Create the product and add a variant also on the product.
Make sure the Attribute values has the same below configuration
Now you can create a new Sales Order. When selecting the product variant, you can give the description as you like
When you confirm the Sales Order, you will get the same description on your Purchase Order as well.

I had already explored that possibility but our products are not all predefined and most of them are created on the fly so I can't continually create and fill attributes.
That's why I commented on the need to find a way to "drag" the fields as filled out by the sellers to the purchase order.

Then you can try creating only a general attribute. You can reuse the same on all the products. Attribute something called General Description. If it's selected with a custom value, you can always give the description you require on the sales order.
