Hi,

We have 4 companies in our Odoo SH in four different countries. The products we sell in those countries are in 95% of cases identical as we represent a brand in the region and, hence, the same products across all companies in all countries.
When I try to create the same product with the same variants in all the companies Odoo does not allow me to do this. I get a message that the barcode already exists, however I need to have the same product in all the companies as the price is different due to different currency in each country.
It seems to me that it is a validation issue with barcode, however, considering that these are different companies across different countries it does not seem logical this barcode validation!
Can someone please help to overcame this issue.

Hello.
Why don't you use pricelists feature? You can use different pricelists for different currencies and companies.
Price lists contain both fields that you are interested in: the specific company using this pricelist and the currency of the pricelist.
This way you will be selling the same product with the same ID and the same barcode in different companies with different financial results for your companies.
And don't worry, in Odoo the "Cost" field (standard_price) is company-specific. Accounting is also company-specific.
So consider the different pricelists.

to make it even clearer: of course you have to make the corresponding products global (i.e. leave the company blank). Then it works with local price lists. We do it that way too!
