I am using Odoo V10 on Ubuntu 16 Desktop and have set up the POS module with a POSBOXless setup, i.e. the receipt printer is set up on the same machine as Odoo.

The printer is an STMicroelectronics JRSVC Printer.

When I access the status page at localhost:8069/hw_proxy/status it shows "escpos: connected" and recognizes my printer, but every time I start the machine I get a printout with the following content:


"ERROR: Could not connect to LAN

Please check that the PosBox is correctly connected with a network cable, that the LAN is setup wth DHCP, and that network addresses are available."


All of those requirements are met, the machine is on the LAN and has a valid IP address and I can access it from other computers on the LAN.


What might be the issue here?
