We are setting up the POS, and find (discover) that standard Odoo POS does NOT offer product adds (e.g., extra cheese, side dishes, extra sauces, etc).  This is a very basic POS function.  We are using Odoo online, so we also discover we cannot install 3rd party apps to handle this basic functionality.  Where do we go from here?  Move to oddo.sh and install 3rd party, or try to develop something in studio?  Anybody have some experience / advice please. TIA.

We have found the solution if anybody is also struggling with how to deal with "toppings" in Odoo POS. Works fine. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ke7As6hleb45STwaGRt2Wv2c509EX-ec/view?usp=sharing

Thank you for your time to reply, however, none of these would work.  Why?  Because, the number of variants increases very quickly with the number of attributes.  For example, how to configure a S, M, or L pizza with a choice of 15 toppings?  That alone is 45 variants.  And in the POS, the amount of space to show each variant is limited, you cannot always see the full description.  Adding a new category (extras, for example) is an idea, but unfortunately choosing an extra is NOT linked that product or variant order (eg, 1 table orders 3 pizzas, which one has extra cheese?  Finally, if not wrong, optional products are only available in the e-commerce module configurator, not POS.  Can you think of a way to handle add ons in the POS?  I am contacting support also.  Thank you.

Agreed, the configuration is very specific to business needs. The one limitation that I see with variants is the ability to choose multiple options. (Attribute values - cheese + Onions + Olives.. etc), but you also have the option to create note or custom value for a variant.

Not sure what you mean by not able to view full description, do you refer to product configurator pop-up or the product list on PoS? If you choose the Attribute creation mode to be 'Never' it wouldn't be creating a variant.. effectively 45 options wouldn't be there to choose from but only the product 'Pizza'

Yes, adding an extra product will add to the order, but not to a specific order line.

Optional products comes up in the product info pop-up. which can be selected as an additional line in the order.

Believe you need to configure your products with variants or optional products or even create a category for extras etc. Which really are specific to your business and your customer's ordering behavior

e.g A product set-up for Burger could be --  Attribute Side Dishes, values: Crisp, Fries, Onion rings, Optional product could be coke, cheese and maybe a product category sauces, with mustard, mayo, ketchup as products

On PoS, while selecting Burger the product configurator pops-up for selecting side dish and then from product info pop-up you could select coke as optional. Navigate the category select Extras to be able to select sauces

Ofcourse there is also the note associated with each line for adding details.

Hope my understanding of issue is accurate. It might also help if you were to maybe provide a specific example which represents one of your typical products

So basically, there currently not a solution. Multiple variants are not able to be chosen, and extras are not assigned to that particular product item (e.g, extra cheese on pizza). Yes, I am referring to the product list in the POS, a full description of the variants is not shown. I guess we will need Odoo.sh and buy a plug in. Disappointing POS at the moment.
