Hello

I have odoo 10 installed with a scenario where Purchase UoM is different with consumption UoM:
If I Purchase a Box of 100 pieces of Pens and consume in each pen in pieces, This scenario is okey, the Box contain 100 pieces of Pen and I can configure a ratio on the Box UoM and make Box the bigger UoM than the reference.
But how do we differentiate the Box as the Bigger UoM than the reference which contain the 100 pieces of Pen and a Box of a light bulbs as a reference UoM which contain 1 light bulb and a Box of 12 bottle of water where bottle is a Reference UoM and Box of 12 as Bigger UoM.

Thanks!

Hi Jean Paul: You can name the UoMs for the boxes as "Box of 100" and "Box of 12" so that you can easily differentiate between them.

Thank you Paresh for your response,
Does it mean that if I'm creating a Box of 12 bottle of 5L and 2L where litre is the smaller UoM, I have to create UOM like "Bottle 12" as a Bigger UoM and "Bottle of 5L" with "Bottle of 2L" as references and "Litre" as a smaller UoM?

Only one of the UoMs can be defined as a "reference" UoM in each "UoM Category". All the other UoMs in that UoM Category will then be smaller or larger than the reference UoM based on what they are. You also have the ability to create custom UoM categories if needed.

Thanks for the clarifications

In your example, Litre will be the "reference" UoM and "Bottle of 5L" and "Bottle of 2L" will be bigger UoMs with ratio of 5 and 2 respectively.

Hello Paresh,

I'm Having a scenario where a Product A with Purchase UoM Box of 100 and reference UoM for pieces, but occasionally this Product A have to be purchased in Box of 50, what do you advice on this scenario?

With the example you have provided, we might configure purchase uom of "Bottle of 5L" but occasionally we might need to purchase in "Bottle of 2L".

what could be your advice on products that might be purchased in 2 different Purchase UoM?

Hi Jean Paul: You can set up both UoMs. At the time of Purchase, you can use any of the 2 UoMs in the RFQ/PO. In your example, "Bottle of 5L" will be used as the default purchase UoM, but you can use "Bottle of 2L" in the RFQ/PO also. Odoo will convert the quantity automatically for the purpose of inventory tracking.
