How can I establish a specific order for payment methods at the point of sale?

Hi,

Odoo POS doesn't provide a built-in UI option to reorder payment methods. The solution is a custom module that adds a sequence field.

Custom Module Solution:

models/pos_payment_method.py

How It Works:

    A sequence field is added to pos.payment.method
    A drag handle appears in the Payment Methods list view (Configuration > Payment Methods)
    The POS session loader is overridden to sort payment methods by sequence when loading them into the POS frontend

Usage:
Go to Point of Sale → Configuration → Payment Methods, then drag and drop the rows using the handle to set your desired order. The POS session will display them in that order.

✅ Steps to Set the Order of Payment Methods

  • Go to Point of Sale

  • Open Configuration → Payment Methods

  • Open your POS configuration

  • In the Payment Methods section, you will see the list of methods

  • Use the drag-and-drop (⋮⋮ six-dot handle icon) on the left side to move the payment methods up or down

  • Save the configuration

👉 The order you set here will be the same order displayed in the POS payment screen.
