Is it possible to link the optional product to the main product itself?

I mean, if the customer selects the optional product, we have to get an order with that specific product and the optional product attached to it (so it has also production)

e.g.

I have a lighting fixture with a driver that the customer can purchase, but OPTIONAL the customer want a specific connector on the driver, this means that the driver of the lighting fixture and the connector needs to be combined in a production route.

is this possible?
