Hello,

Is it possible to migrate from OpenERP v6.1.1 towards the latest Odoo comunity version using  OpenUpgrade ?

Doing some research in the net I find some info saying that is not possible, that only Odoo can do the migration from 8 to 9. But when I look into the OpenUpgrade depots it seems possible to do all migrations from TinyERP to Odoo 10 !

Any advise ?

Thanks !

Damian.

Hi Damian,

This should be possible. The OpenUpgrade platform recently finished the possibility to migrate from V8 to V9 - although they are still working actively on improvements and fixes (as you can see at https://github.com/OCA/OpenUpgrade/issues ).
Do notice that the upgrade across so many versions will take quite some time and that it won't go without trial and error. You will need quite some time to migrate the database (depending on how big it is). For more information see https://github.com/OCA/OpenUpgrade and https://doc.therp.nl/openupgrade/

Hi Yenthe,

Thank you for your quick answer !

Our database is quite small, so the volumetry is not going to be a problem. We don't have custom modules and we use strictly the standard ones. The only customisations made are the logo on the invoices ! :D

I'll give it a try, I'm ready for test and trial !

Thanks for the info !

Regards.

Best of luck - please do post back letting us know how it went!

P.S: If it is really not a lot of data you might want to look into exporting and importing data instead? ;-)

Sorry Yenthe ! I didn't saw your post !

You are right, perhaps that's the way to go ... I'll keep you updated on how it went and how I did it...

Thank you !
