Is there any way to assign several companies to a contact? some contact can be assigned to more than one company in real life. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hey in odoo 13 u cant have multiple contracts and also employee/contatcs are company specific , what you can do is to create two different contacts in each companies , may be with the same name.

I was looking for the same thing in v11 and came across the OCA addon partner_contact_in_several_companies.
Here it is for v12 -- I'm not sure of the dev effort to make it v13 compatible:
