After the initial clean install of odoo11 community (odoo_11.0.20171021.exe) on windows, when I start the application and logged in properly, there is no menu at all. If I reduce enough the size of the browser there is a menu icon (3 white horizontal bars) appearing, but there is no effect when I click on it.

So I cannot configure odoo, nor see or install modules.

The database is created, the log does not show any anomaly.

Ho can I start using odoo?

It doesn't help me neither. The issue is anyhow not cash related (there was no previous version installed here). I can start using Odoo if I put ?debug=asset in the URL but obviously this is not a solution once we want use it in real life.

are you guys running on python 3 ?

it is the docker image from https://hub.docker.com/_/odoo/ which is using python3

Yes Sir!

By the way it is an all in all official windows install (as I've written in my original post). So IMHO it should run fine out of the box without any modification.

I get the same error if I change the language to german.

Before everything works fine, but once I install de_DE I'll get this error:

UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 134: ordinal not in range(128)

I also use the odoo:11 docker container. But I'm don't think that this is the reason for the error.

EDIT:

It is fixed, but the dockerfile uses not the latest version of odoo.

Have a look:

https://github.com/odoo/odoo/commit/90d9605c86540ff446eac46fc368001c1808031a#diff-4c19939afda19d36d6d57eda5f0a5c9e

EDIT2:

5 hours ago, they updated the docker version. So just remove your current docker image with "docker rmi <image_name>" and pull it again. This will resolve the issue.
