Hi guys.

We would like to know some recommendations related to where to load odoo11 in the cloud(company) and what hw  are recommended and internet bandwidth for the company.

The number of clients will be +/- 50(Max)

We are going to need:

Sales

Project

Purchase

Warehouse

Manufacturing

Freight && S

HR

Right now the company has a 10Mb symmetric connection.

The network is 1GB LAN.

The database will not start heavy, the big module will be Projects.

I have some servers at gandi.net, but they are not heavy as Odoo.

They have the X-Large which have:

8 cores

12GB RAM

200GB storage

$121 month.

Ubuntu16.x

Reading the docs related to odoo11 requirements, this exceed the odoo website specification for 50 users with 9 workers.

We are deciding if we setup this in the cloud or local.

Any info and tip will be appreciated.

Hi Klabacita,

Hosting in the cloud or on your own dedicated server is rather a personal choice. Some companies don't want it to be at a cloud provider, some don't want to manage it locally. It is important that when you host on your own that you factor in the cost of managing the systems (also the hardware) which you do not have in the cloud. If you don't want to manage the hardware - or don't have anybody with the skills - you should probably go for the cloud.

I've noticed that the Odoo official documentation its server specifications are a bit on the low side. You'll probably want a server with some higher specifications, image having 40-50 users working at once, you'll need quite some resources to run that smoothly. I'd go with 16GB-24GB of RAM. After installing the Odoo make sure you configure the Odoo and postgreSQL well. You should look at tools such as pgtune to calculate specifications. The configuration of the postgreSQL sides matters a lot for performance.

Hi Yenthe.

I have right now 2 paths, the cloud or locally.

In my situation our IT team are the one that will manage the whole system, locally or cloud.

I would like to consider both options.

I have a server with a Xeon SIlver 4114 10 core 64GB in my quotes.

Raid1 SSD drives 2.5 factor 960GB.

This server will only run odoo nothing else.

Checking your comments and odoo doc this huge.

What u think?

Thanks for your input.

That server should be more than enough, yes :)
