https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/11.0/inventory/routes/concepts/use_routes.html says that the first configuration step is to go to Inventory > Configuration > Settings and tick Advance routing of products using rules.  I can't find this option in v11, so does anyone know where's it gone?

Can I update the documentation? I tried using GitHub but I don't have the right permissions.

The option is there but renamed in v11. Go to Inventory > Setting  and find section "Warehouse", now in that section you can find "Multi-step Routes" that allow you to configure rules.

Thanks!  I found that there is also a 'Technical Setting' on the user profile called “Manage Push and Pull inventory flows” which enables the menu option for Routes.  It seems that it is enabled if you select "Multi-Step Routes" and removed if you de-select, but it can also be set manually.

I also noticed that the documentation covers: “pull” and “push” inventory control systems and “pull” and “push” rules and “pull” and “push” routes, which are all different things!

yes, but that option enables the functionality to particular user(ex. if you enable this option for admin means admin can only manage routes)..

So generally we have two groups

- one on user that enable particular user to use that features

- on setting, this will enable the functionality to all users.

Yes, what I found was that I could grant the Administrator user ID access to the menu item by adding to the “Manage Push and Pull inventory flows” group, but this was revoked if I updated the Settings without selecting "Multi-Step Routes". It makes sense, I suppose!
