Dear All,

i did check as much info as possible on this topic, but still have questions.

is there a free version of Odoo for using it on my own server?

is it a full blown version or a "lite" version with missing and/or limited functions?

can I use all off the apps for the self hosted Odoo version?

thanks for any info! :-)

Well my friend, I think you did not look much for that information but there is the answer:

Odoo community is free to use and include about 80% of the content of Odoo enterprise.

Most new feature come in the Enterprise and they are put back in Community a few years latter.

Bigest difference for me is the fact that Enterprise can be upgrade to new version of Odoo (as long as you use only included module) while upgrading the community version is much more complicated.

If you install a community version, you will see in the moduie manager all the Enterprise specific modules that you can not install so you'll see quickly if you need it or not.

As per version 10.0 enterprise only module are: the mobility interface, the quality control, plant floor dashboard , worker center planning, barcode interface, and a few more.

Dear Benoit,

thanks very much for the detailed answer! Now only one more question:

if I start with the community version, could I upgrade to the enterprise version easily migrating all my data?

thanks,

As long as you use only official module it is realy easy to migrate. For other module, Odoo is charging you for doing it
