If I post an answer for a forum question and insert a link, in the edit mode it looks fine. When I save the post/answer the link will be replaced by a normal text again with a previous backslash "\Corda" instead \Corda for instance. Sometime every word in the text will be joined with a backslash. The server runs on Ubuntu 16.4 with nginx.
While editing it looks like this:

So what do you mean exactly? Can you provide a screenshot?

I did post a screenshot. Strange what I do different from you? Using Firefox or Chrome.
This looks like it is already formatted as a link (the editor symbol changed to "unlinking"). Do click on the link symbol and look at the link text and the link itself.
