Hi, I've a question regarding Odoo. Can Odoo Community Edition + Odoo Community Association Apps = Odoo Enterprise Edition? I do like Odoo Enterprise Edition though, looks cleaner

1. Does the theme in Odoo Online = Odoo Enterprise Edition on-premise?, or does it looks exactly like Odoo Community Edition? Can I hide not installed apps from main page?

2. Does Odoo Community Association Apps have any difference than the Enterprise Edition?

3. Should I be concern of my data privacy & safety because of Odoo Community Association Apps?

Background Info, I am starting a company (haven't set up the LLC structure yet, still working under my parents umbrella), I've calculated the monthly fee for Odoo if I were to use it. Around $50 for 1 employee, $56, $62 per month and so on based on must haves apps (Sales, Invoice, Purchase, Accounting, Website, Subscriptions, Rental). Which is a lot for an Asian startup. That's the reason why I decide to take Odoo Community Edition and OCA apps (I got a steal deal from Alibaba Cloud)

Odoo Online is the Enterprise Edition offered as a SaaS solution. The backend themes are the same.

The backend theme of Community Edition is different.​

Having said that, the frontend (website) themes in Odoo 13 have been open sourced and are available for free on the Odoo app store.

Only the installed apps are visible on the main page.

2. Does Odoo Community Association Apps have any difference than the Enterprise Edition?

​OCA apps are developed by 3rd parties. They are complementary to the Community Edition but the functionality is not the same as EE.

3. Should I be concern of my data privacy & safety because of Odoo Community Association Apps?

​It depends on the author of the OCA module. They are not covered under the standard Odoo policies.​


You also mentioned something like....(I got a steal deal from Alibaba Cloud). ​Odoo CE and OCA apps are free. You can download them from the Odoo site and the Odoo app store.
