We are trying to integrate Biometric machine with Odoo. For that we are evaluating different Biometric models(along with API and SDK).But all the SDKs are build in .Net environment(exclusively for windows) .

We want to develop a module which is platform independent. So is there any device which provides built-in cross platform APIs?Basically We want to build a Linux compatible module. Are there any existing devices available in market which can be used for above purpose? Any help will be highly appreciated.

Yes, You can check with CAMS Biometric Web API which is completely platform independent. You can very well host your application at linux server and communicate with the biometric device. The documentation is available at http://camsunit.com/application/biometric-web-api.html

We offer our support for biometric integration with Odoo. Our Odoo modules are readily available for versions 13, 14, 15, and 16, and can be conveniently downloaded from the Odoo App Store. In case you are using a different version of Odoo, we are more than happy to customize the module to meet your specific requirements.

To seamlessly integrate biometric attendance with Odoo, please follow these steps:

1. Visit the Odoo App Store and locate the Odoo Biometric Attendance module.
2. Install the module within your Odoo application.
3. Proceed to configure the module settings by providing the Service Tag ID and Auth Token. These credentials can be obtained from the "Manage" section of the biometric device on the Device Management page of your Cams portal. It is crucial to ensure that you have a valid API activated to access this section.
4. The module utilizes the employee check-in module in Odoo to effectively handle attendance data. It automatically transfers the punch logs from the biometric device to your Odoo server.
5. Once the attendance data is successfully synchronized, you will be able to generate reports and perform further analysis directly within the Odoo application.

Please keep in mind that the primary focus of the Odoo Biometric Attendance module is data synchronization between the biometric device and Odoo. The standard functionality of Odoo takes care of report generation and other features within the application.

For those using ZkTeco devices, we highly recommend completing the compatibility check provided by the Cams Developer Bot to ensure that your device supports the required API. Alternatively, you can choose any biometric device listed on the Cams product page as they are all compatible with the module, provided that the device has a valid API activated.

Should you have any further inquiries or require any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team. We are dedicated to helping you.
