Hi, I installed odoo 18 community in a linux VPS. I need to use some devices so I installed the virtual IoT box on a Windows machine. How can I connect the virtual IoT with my odoo database on the VPS? When I try to connect the IoT to the server by wirting the server url in "Server Token" an error says "Failed to write server configuration files on IoT. Please try again". Do I need to pay for a subscription? I dont have the IoT app in my Odoo instance.

Thanks.

Hi Albert,

I don't know where Carlos got his information from, but Odoo IoT is an enterprise feature and you have to pay 25€ per month per IoT configuration in your active database - regardless of whether you use a physical box or a virtual box (https://www.odoo.com/documentation/18.0/applications/general/iot/iot_box.html).

In a community environment you will therefore unfortunately not be able to use your devices by default (https://www.odoo.com/page/editions).

But I need to pay for an IoT subscription? Anyway, after installing Community there is no IoT module available in apps.
