When creating new bank or cash journal, odoo 14 add 2 new chart accounts: Outstanding Receipts and Outstanding Payments. Why can't we use only one pair of charts for whole company?
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
- CRM
- e-Commerce
- Accounting
- Inventory
- PoS
- Project management
- MRP

Hi:
The following video from Odoo does an excellent job of explaining this.

Hi,
Thanks for your answer. I've already seen this video.
For example, I have company with 3 bank journals: Journal 1, Journal 2 and Journal 3.
For each of this journals Odoo create 2 outstanding accounts:
- Journal 1 Outstanding Receipts
- Journal 1 Outstanding Payments
- Journal 2 Outstanding Receipts
- Journal 2 Outstanding Payments
- Journal 3 Outstanding Receipts
- Journal 3 Outstanding Payments
Could I use only 2 accounts for all of bank journals? For example:
1) Outstanding Receipts
2) Outstanding Payments
Or in this way I will lost some connections between account - journal? Or maybe there are another problems with data consistency?
It is possible to have common accounts for all the journals. But having separate accounts for each Journal will make it easier to keep a track of the unreconciled transactions in each journal.
Do i need to create a new Bank suspense account as well for each bank that i have ?
