Hi all,

I have a multi company and multi website environment. Every company has its own website. Additionally I have created portal users that belong to one company.

Let's say I have

  • Company A with website A and portal user A

  • Company B with website B and portal user B

How can I ensure that portal user B automatically is redirected to website B?

Thanks!

Hi:

You can configure Odoo to point each domain to a specific website:

  • Activate developer mode.

  • Go to Website > Configuration > Websites

  • Edit each of your website records and specify the domain name that should point to them in the Website Domain field.

Also, the portal users will need to be configured with access to their specific company only.

Thanks for your reply! Is it at least possible to change the default website? The odoo demo data has to websites "My Website" and "My Website 2" and I would like to have "My Website 2" as the default one.

The combination of domain name and Company will determine which website is displayed. As far as I know, there is no setting for a "default website".

Ok, thanks!!

Hello Paresh

I used to follow your useful suggestions, Thanks for knowledge sharing

Could you suggest, how it is possible to configure portal user placing order from compnay other than the logged in website. The stock is by serial number therefore I can't allow Portal-cart order while stock is nill.

Thanking you and appreciating your input.

Please suggest any possibility

Hi B.A.: Typically, the serial number is selected during the picking process. Are you saying that your customer needs the ability to select the serial number during the ordering process ? If not, then the standard shopping cart functionality should work in your case.

Thank you Paresh, may be it requires change in "RECORD RULE" :

The scenario is : (1) No stock in website company

(2) Stock is in 3 ERP companies

(3) portal user place order from WEBSITE co.,

(4) In the Product Template, e-commerce section is configured as "not to allow sales order (CART @ WEB) if quantity is unavailable"

So, the problem is : Portal user @WEBSITE co can't make order as there is no stock in WEBSITE company

The solution may be : CHANGIN a Record Rule in order to allow the portal user to place the order based upon quantity in the ERP companies.

Please suggest something.

Thanking you.
