I'm Running Odoo 11 CE on Ubuntu and the following  service file on /etc/init.d/odoo

#!/bin/bash

# Short-Description: Start odoo daemon at boot time
# Description:       Enable service provided by daemon.
# X-Interactive:     true

exit 0

I'm able to run service running the following command manually

service odoo start

and works like a charm!

but if restart the box (docker) and see if it is running I could see that does not run and no "apparently" error found.

netstat -na

shows that no instance is running

Try with this to enable odoo service on boot:

sudo systemctl enable odoo.service

or

sudo systemctl enable odoo-service

have you enabled the odoo service using systemctl? I think you need to do that. If you want we can look into it
