I'm using Odoo 11 CE and have realized that every time I receive cash for a sales order before I deliver it is registered as a down payment. The only problem with this is that after delivery I cannot print a proper invoice from this as all that will be shown on the invoice is down payment instead of the list of good and services supplied... Is there a way to get the actual invoice instead of just the invoice with down payment?

When you create the Invoice after delivery you have 2 options:

  1. Invoiceable lines

  2. Invoiceable lines (deduct down payments)

If you select the Invoiceable lines option, it will list all the items without the down payments in the generated Invoice.

If you select the Invoiceable lines (deduct down payments) option, it will list all the items and the down payments in the generated Invoice.

Normally when I try that it tells me that there are no lines ti invoice... And this is after delivery... Perhaps Im not doing something right...

Are you Invoicing based on Delivered quantity ?

Author

Yes sir... Based on delivered quantity... I would recieve cash for an order and after delivery I invoice... And it shows one line that says down payment and no list of goods...

Yes, that is a problem with the down payment invoice. It will need some development!

After delivery you can create a final invoice" (Invoiceable lines - deduct down payments) and that shows all the products and services. Or you might try proforma invoices.

Yes, I used proforma ivoice but it doesn't show the client paid... Apart from that its ok I gues...

Check whether the Delivered Quantity in the Sales Order is getting updated after the Delivery is validated.
