Hi!

I have customers using Odoo17 with a multi-warehouse setup. They want to easily be able to see the stock valuation for each warehouse separately. This seems to me like a reasonable expectation, but I cannot figure out how to do it. It should work out-of-the-box according to an answer in this thread, but I cannot get it to work.

https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/how-to-know-the-value-of-inventory-transfer-internal-193927

Any other thread on the topic I have found seems to suggest that it is not possible.

The problems I want to solve:

1. I want to be able to see the valuation of each warehouse separately (By grouping and/or filtering)

2. When an Internal transfer is created, I want to be able to see this updated in the inventory valuation report

Solutions

1.  Group by warehouse

I think that i have a workaround for the first problem.

There is a field "warehouse_id" in the sock.valuaton.layer, but it cannot be grouped by since it is not stored.

By adding a related field to the "warehouse_id" and making that stored, I can then add it as a field to be grouped by. This is however not enough without a solution to problem 2.

It is also possible to create a filter using the steps above.

2. Internal transfers

For some reason, internal transfers do not show up on the stock valuation report.

Example:

I receive 1000 units to one warehouse, and the transfer 600 units to another warehouse.

I can then see in the stock and location reports that the units have been moved.

In the stock valuation report, all 1000 units are still in the first warehouse, ignoring my internal move.

Is there a workaround for this second problem, or am I missing something obvious?

Hi Johannes,

I have the same requirement for some of my clients. Did you end up finding a solution for this?

Group by warehouse is correct..

Yes, this solves issue #1, but issue #2 remains. Internal transfers don't generate a SVL entry, so they aren't reflected on the stock valuation report.

This is an issue if you have a Warehouse A where all stock is supplied from an internal location (e.g. internal transfer in from head office warehouse), then subsequently sold from Warehouse A (transfer out to partners/customers), the stock valuation report will show negative value for Warehouse A as only the transfers to external locations are captured in the stock valuation report.
