Dear all,

we're a small company that makes measurement equipment and I work on Odoo integration in our processes to make everything much more optimized and transparent.

Due to the size of the company some of technological operations are given to our partners-subcontractors.

Let's talk about product A, that consists of:

* product B - 1 pc

* product C - 1 pc

   |---- product C.1 - 1 pc

   |---- product C.2 - 1pc

   |---- service that is acquired from subcontractor

* product D - 1 pc

During one bright morning we've got a phone call from the client - they've requested 10 devices. Our warehouse had all raw materials including: B, C.1, C.2, D, but had no assembled C products. When I filled in and right after confirming manufacturing order to produce 10 devices I expected to see "nested" automatically created manufacturing order to produce C parts but nothing occured. Part C has its own BOM and can be ordered manually without any problem.

The same story occurs when some parts are not in the warehouse and are supposed to be purchased. Odoo, as far as I get it, checks availability of the BOM items but doesn't generate a purchase order.

I've looked into the Odoo tutorials on Youtube - really good videos and googled a lot, but still no luck. Could you kick me in the right direction to make the supply chain process a lot more automated.

Hi,

regarding to what i understand and correct me if it is not true (you need to confirm MO for product A which has BOM with sub-assembly MO for product C"

solution One (use MTO route):

1. On your product template " product C"  -> Inventory tab -> check routs for "Manufacture and Make to order" (choose them both, it says like : when i need product C in my stock i should ressuply my stock by manufacuring it)
Note: to make "make to order" route visible go to Inventory configurations settings -> activate "multi-step routes" feature -> go to routes tab in Configuration tab -> click action button and choose "archive" filter -> unarchive MTO route

2. when conferming MO for product A, Odoo will create second MO for sub-assembly product C auomatically/.

Second Solution (setup reordering rules):

1. go into "product C" template -> reordering rule smart button :

choose your inventory location where system checks for product C ,choose preperred route "manufactur" and quantity min =max =0 , and trigger = Auto
Note: this configuration will allow you to use reordering rules as per MTO route which created default by Odoo

2. same as per first solution
