A ParseError in /views/action.xml usually means that Odoo is trying to load something in the XML that does not exist or is not available at the moment the module is upgraded.

The most common causes are:

• A field referenced in the view does not exist in the model.

• The field exists in Python but the module containing that field is missing from the depends list in __manifest__.py.

• An incorrect XML ID is referenced in an action, menu, record, or inherit.

• A view is trying to inherit another view that is not yet loaded.

• A typo in the XML structure, such as an invalid tag, wrong attribute, or missing closing tag.

To quickly identify the real issue:

• Upgrade the module from the command line with -u your_module_name --log-level=debug.

• Look at the full traceback in the server log. The line immediately before ParseError usually shows the exact field, XML ID, or view causing the failure.

• Open /views/action.xml and check the line number mentioned in the error.

• Verify that every field used in the XML exists in the corresponding Python model.

• Verify that any referenced model or field comes from a module listed in depends.

For example, if the XML contains a field such as:

<field name="hide_appointment"/>

but hide_appointment is not defined in the model, Odoo will raise a ParseError during upgrade.

It would be very helpful if you could share the full error traceback from the log, because the complete traceback normally points directly to the exact line and root cause.
