Is it possible to add the product description to the BOM form page?  I have the part number, quantity, and UOM.  Would be nice to have a description.  I tried modifying the form in Studio but didn't have any luck.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,


Yes it is possible to add the product description to the BOM form page. Follow the steps

1. Get into theh BOM form page and click studio icon.

2. Create a new related field using the product field in the BOM page [Product -> Description].

3. Change the label for that newly created related field.

4. If you want to display description on the component level, then click the conponent and select edit form view option.

5. Now create a related field using the component field [Component -> Description] and change the label.

6. Now search the newly created field in the existing fields and drag and drop that into the components list view.


Now you can able to see the product description on the BOM page.

Thank you, that worked well. 

Next question - how can I do the same for "BOM Overview" - the stuido option disappears.  Would like the BOM to also print the description.   Is there a form or template that can be modified?   Also is it possible to export BOM to excel?

It seems there is no option edit the "BoM overview" because studio icon get disable and the Edit view option in the debugger icon also disabled. And yes you can export the BOM to excel by using the export option on the list view of the BOM list.
