Essentials:


-Active Suscription

Use Case:

We are a company in which our sprinters/trucks are warehouses, which are replenished from a central warehouse; at the same time, we would like to know what are the status of this mobile warehouses with a smart button (if they are on route, if they are having a mechanical issue, etc).


Configurations


1- Go to your Odoo principal menu and then enter to the Inventory Module.




2- Group by warehouses, you need to have at least 2 of them; if you need help creating a new warehouse you can redirect yourself to the "Essentials" section of this post and click on "multiple warehouses to see the documentation".



3-Click on configuration and then click on warehouses.




4-Enter to any of your existing warehouses.



5-Once you are in your warehouse configuration, activate your studio tool (click on the tools image on the right upper corner on your screen).



6-You must have a view similar to the following. 



7-Once you have a similar view to the last image, grab the one to many card on your left panel to the position bellow "Short Name" on the right panel.



8-Once you've done step 7, it will pop out a menu similar to the following; please type down the word vehicle, select it and confirm the selection. 




9- Once you've selected confirm you will have a view similar to the first following image, please identify the fields on pink, we will modify this fields to the values on image 2 of this instruction and close studio with the button "Close on your upper right".




10- Go back to your Odoo main menu and then enter to the fleet module. Select any of your vehicles created and double click on it, you must have a similar view to the following.




11- Open your studio tool again (on the right upper corner), you must have a view similar to the following.



12- Click on the "+" button (as in the first image below). As shown in the second image below, write down on the first field "warehouse", select an icon for the button and finally write down "studio" and select the studio field we created; confirm the selection and close studio.




13- You must have a view and elements similar to the following when you confirmed your selection and closed studio.



14- Go to your Odoo principal menu and then enter to the Inventory Module, click on configuration and then click on warehouses; enter to any desired workhouse, now on the vehicle assigned field you will be able to select any of the vehicles you have available on your fleet module.



Result


1-From fleet module you will be able to connect to the warehouse selected and you will reduce misinformation regarding assigned warehouses to vehicles.



Good practices


It is crucial to consider the full flow of the customers to assess the feasibility of this function.


In addition, it is essential to understand the database interface to determine whether connecting this two modules are really necessary, specially as we are connecting a very sensitive module as inventory is.
