Hello,

I understand from the recent Odoo Experience videos that the mechanism for creation and editing of all email templates within V15 now relies on Qweb instead of Jinja2 as previously.

Since there are many people who have build extensive email templates within all areas of Odoo including "Email Marketing" templates, what is the recommended plan to migrate these to Qweb apart from manually converting them all?

Is there a tool provided or plan to allow backwards compatibility for existing templates?

I see this as a potential roadblock to upgrade for many clients who rely of some fairly complex templates which have taken extensive time to create.

Thanks

Chris

Hi, I noticed the following, while upgrading from V14 to V15 during the weekend: Mail templates in english are automagically converted to the new templating format. It basically just works, same formatting, all looks good. BUT: All translations of those same mail templates (including subject of e-mails) are not converted automatically. We had to do it manually. I sent this feedback to the Odoo upgrade team over our odoo consultant.

Thanks Tobias. That helps put my mind at rest for other clients upgrading.
Hopefully translations will be handled properly also now you have reported it.
I'd also like to see the Dynamic Placeholder Generator updated to that it includes the new Qweb placeholder types as it only generates the {{ }} type which are useless in the body of the message template.
