How can I use the subcontracting option when I sell services, not storable products using an “MTO” route?

Subcontracting entails the practice of engaging external firms to execute particular tasks or services, typically encompassed within a broader project or for resale to a client. As an illustration, consider a scenario where we operate as a travel agency, facilitating the sale of travel services. These Services are procured from our vendor and subsequently marketed to our clientele. We aspire to streamline this process through automation.

The requisite configurations to address this requirement include:

  1. Download the Manufacturing App -(At first we do not think about this app if we do not transform something, but is needed even if we only sell services for this case)  This is indispensable for accessing the subcontracting functionality within the Configuration settings. We may remove the permissions to users, so they can't see or interact within  the app.

2.- Product configuration entails the following specifications: the product type should be designated as "service." Within the purchase tab, it is imperative to define a vendor. Additionally, under the reordering option, activation of the "subcontract service" feature is necessary.

3.- With this configuration in place, each time you sell this product, a Purchase Order (PO) will be automatically generated and linked to the corresponding Sales Order (SO).
