How do I compute manufacturing waste in Odoo? Should I add a product "waste" to the BoM? Or is there a better way?

Hi:
You can configure the Manufacturing module to produce the Waste as a By-Product by going to Manufacturing > Configuration > Settings and activating the By-Products checkbox in the Operations section of the settings.
Enabling this option will add a new tab called By-product in your Bill of Materials screen.
You can then define Waste as another Product and add it in the Bill of Materials of the finished Product in the By-products tab so that the Waste is produced and tracked every time the finished Product is manufactured.
