So I have been messing around with Odoo for about 6 months while we try and see if it is going to fit our needs.  I am at a point where I am trying to figure out proper scheduling.  I found the odoo page "How is the Scheduled Delivery Date Computed" and see how that is scheduled but there is zero mention of BOM operation times.  On the product page there is a manufacturing lead time in days.  In the BOM there are operation times.  Shouldn't both these be the same?  Not sure why a person would have to manually calculate a lead time when the operation to manufacture the product are in the BOM.  What I am guessing is the manufacturing lead time is used to calculate delivery time and the operation times are to schedule the internal processes but again they are one and the same.

So the questions are:

Why doesn't the operation times auto calculate manufacturing lead time for the product?

If I have to manually calculate the manufacturing lead time per product/part and a part takes 20 minutes to make how do we put in the right time in the field?  For instance does the field take into account an 8 hour day per our standard 40 hour work schedule or is it based on 24 hour days?  That would make a difference in the percentage of day I would need to put into that field.

Thanks for any insight.

I have the exact same question about the lead times being automatically calculated from the total time of operations for a specific product.
In relation to your question about the calendar being used, those calendars are defined in the Workcenter used by each operation.
