We use engineering tools specific to products, and want to include them in the BOM.
The reason the tools are required in the BOM is that they need to be ordered the first time a product is manufactured. The tools are reusable (they can be used again the next time a customer orders the product) and don't get consumed in the manufacturing process. For example, a mold for a size 9 shoe is purchased and used in the manufacturing process the first time a customer orders a shoe in size 9, and the mold is used again a few months later when the customer reorders the same shoe.
While we've been able to add a tool as a component in the BOM, I've not been able to figure out how not to let it get consumed during manufacturing. Is there something in the product/component settings that we're missing?
We'd really appreciate it if someone could help with this. Or, is there a better way of going about this in Odoo altogether?
We have a similar issue, has anyone found a solution for this. We need to have tools visible on a BOM. Our tools are used to press parts and then are put back in stock after they are used.
