Is it possible to generate my own documents including database fields

Question

I need to generate a text (word / pdf) document with my own text and including some database fields. The document has a standard format and text but certain fields have to be generated from database fields. If possible I want to 'replace' the qouation form. Any ideas?

Hi Chris, you've got alot of research to do, before you can achieve these's goals.. It is possible i feel..

Needs some planning tho.

v8 and v9 are really moving towards  PDF generation qWeb, then word documents, i feel.

I might be wrong is saying this.. check out git, odoo-extra for move on base_report_designer to handle .sxw
