We want to upgrade openERP 6.1 to 7.0 version, but we dont know how we can tranfer data from 6.1 to 7.0. Is it even possible? How?

I did a migration for a little company using csv files from v6.1 to v7, included Products, CRM, Accountant ( chart account, journal, account entries tax) etc.
V7 work from 2 months, after account year 2012 was closed.

There is not a free or easy upgrade available. I give you examples for some possibilities:
You can buy the service from OpenERP SA. It is called OPW. It is available for migratte from 6.0 LTS to 7.0 LTS. LTS = Long Term Support. I am not sure if the service is available for 6.1 to 7.0. And there are also restrictions.
You can try to export all data by hand and import it in 7.0. This is usually al lot of difficult work with try and error.
You can start all over again and don't use your 6.1 data in 7.0 (Keep it in 6.1). version.
Use (not easy to use) database export - import tools which are available in Open Source community and customize them for your situation.
Wait on OpenERP community and hope there become more tools available. (maybe you can help the community with this.)
Buy services from a consultant who can help you with decision making on this and with the job itself.
Please don't punish me because I have given an answer you are not happy with. As far as I know this is the truth.
Services from Openerp are expensive for SMB enterprises for migration purposes. If you plan to use the import/export capabilities of the sofware try to find a good consultant... you will keep your time and your mind.

I am in Latin America and can not export the files with the proper encoding, I mean the "ñ" ó and so on. Could you tell how can I change this on the server or something else.
