Hopefully this isn't a repeat question but I'm looking to pass the sales tax onto vendors for certain products. For example, the product has price of $10.00 and cost of $8.00. The tax rate is 10%.
Typical scenario: sales tax to vendor would be $.80 (10% of $8.00)
Requested scenario: sales tax to vendor would be $1.00 (10% of $10.00)
Any suggestions are appreciated.
I don't understand your question. Customers pay Sales Tax to you, and you pay it to the Government. Vendors charge you Sales Tax, and pay it to the Government. Also sometimes you may have to pay Sales Tax even though a Vendor doesn't charge you. So how can you 'pass the sale tax onto vendors' when you are paying THEM for their product. Perhaps an example that shows where the money is coming from and going to, and what real world scenario you are trying to resolve?
I would even go further than Ray and say that such a scenario is illegal in all countries I know of, and it is nonsense anyway. So it is no repeated question :-)
Hi both, thank you for your comments and questions. We are a broker/agent service. We are legally licensed to operate as broker in the states we operate. As a broker, we are not liable for the sales tax. We pass through the sales tax that is paid by the customer to the vendors we represent. I was trying to figure out a way to do that using Odoo. I'm a newbie to the platform so maybe I'm missing a simple setup/config.
Thanks again for the comments and any suggestions are welcomed.
Hi @Jason did you get answer of your question? I face same issue
